Cheeca Lodge Rainy Day Wedding

Lauren and Jason once envisioned a picture perfect tropical wedding in the Keys. However, the ever changing Florida weather turned their sunny day into a wet, soggy afternoon at the Cheeca Lodge. The ocean breeze moving heavy rains in to the beautiful beach setting and torrential downpours attempted to dampen the mood.  Alan and his staff at Cheeca Lodge deciding that a break in the storm was unlikely as they quickly moved the ceremony inside the resort. The Bougainvillea room became the new location for the ceremony which began precisely at 5:30 as light Caribbean music filled the ears of guests awaiting the brides entrance.

Music heard during the ceremony coming from a Steel Drummer provided by MB Entertainment.

Regge Calypso music continued playing as the precession began. During the ceremony guests were treated to a very special guest Mr. Junior Seau. The former NFL player playing the part of the officiant during the ceremony.

Caribbean music continuing to fill the atmosphere following the ceremony as guests moved to the Hibiscus room for a cocktail hour prior to the reception. During the cocktail hour staff at Cheeca Lodge worked diligently transforming the Bougainvillea room from the wedding ceremony to the reception area.  Magical up-lighting covering the walls and turquoise decorations filling the room set the scene for a beautiful reception in the Florida Keys. After guests entered the magnificent setting the bride and groom made their grand entrance making their way to the center of the dance floor. The stunning couple, glowing with happiness and love, began their first dance to Keith Urban’s “Without You.” The couple dancing joyfully as MB entertainments Saxophone player Leo Casino awed guests playing along during the first dance.

Immediately following the first dance dinner was served. Guests enjoying a delicious beef tenderloin with baked potato and greens as saxophone player Leo Casino continued to awe them as he played in both alto and soprano. Full introductions of the wedding party took place as guests finished up their meals. The newly weds followed the introductions into the cutting of the cake.

Wedding party introductions: “Dynomite” Tao Cruz

Lead into cake cutting: “How Sweet it is to be Loved by You”

Cake cutting: “Pour Some Sugar on Me”

MB entertainment kept the party rocking for the next three hours as guests enjoyed big hits like “Hey Soul Sister” by Train, “You Shook Me All Night Long” by ACDC and “A Party in The USA” mashup by DMX. The evening came to a close as the couple took the dance floor as Donna Summer’s “Last Dance” played. As the song ended and guests believed the night to be over “Coming to America” took over the speakers and the groom, Jay, and his friends hit the dance floor closing the evening with a special routine they had planned out!

A little rain may have made a few changes to the wedding but ultimately had no effect on this magical night. Thanks going Mr. Seau for his service during the ceremony and to MB Entertainment’s Mike and DJ 911 for providing wonderful music all evening as well as saxophone player Leo Casino. Also, a big thanks goes out to Alan and his staff for turning what could have been a disastrous wet evening into a picture perfect wedding!

A Rainy Day Wedding in Key Largo

A rainy October day turning into an absolutely beautiful and memorable wedding at the Key Largo Bayside Marriott. Unexpected rain taking the wedding in a new direction becoming more amazing than imagined! Upon our arrival we were greeted with a massive down pour drenching the chairs lining the way to the alter. The ceremony, originally set to take place on the beach, was moved to a covered area on the first floor of the hotel. Kathy Knowles and the Marriott staff worked diligently to rearrange the ceremony while wedding guests enjoyed a pre-ceremony cocktail hour. The heavy rain was unable to bring down the happy couple of this wonderful day. Mr. and Mrs. Murphy remembering that rain is often associated with romance and is said that the more rain the longer the marriage will last!

The rain was unable to stop this wedding from taking place and the officiant, who happened to be a good friend of the groom, performed the ceremony without a hitch!

Ceremony Selections Included: (All songs were instrumental)

Prelude music: “Cant Help Falling in Love”

Seating of the mothers: “Ave Maria”

Bridesmaids Entrance: “Canon in D”

Jenny’s Processional: “Over the Rainbow”

Recessional: “Wedding March”

After the ceremony, wedding guests moved to the “Upper Gus” in the hotel for a cocktail hour prior to the reception.  Cocktail highlights included Calypso Reggae Island Music.  Introductions of the wedding party and our guests of honor immediately followed the cocktail hour.

Introduction Music Included:

Wedding party: “Say Hey” by Michael Franti

Newlyweds: “Burning Love” by Elvis Presley

The couple proceeded to the dance floor upon entrance to the reception taking part in their first dance as Mr. and Mrs. Brian Murphy.  Kenny Rogers “You Decorated my Life” played as the newlyweds lit up the dance floor. As the first dance came to an end, the bride’s father took the dance floor stealing his daughter away for a dance to “My Girl” by the Temptations. The groom’s mother also met her son on the dance floor as “Have I Told You Lately” by Rod Stewart filled the ears of guests.

During the dinner, light romantic music filled the room setting the scene for a wonderful evening. As guests enjoyed a delicious surf-and-turf dinner the Toasting of the Bride and Groom began. The groom’s best man, his son, was too young to speak so friends of the groom stepped up giving the first of the toasts followed by the maid of honor, and a few bridesmaids. The beautiful wedding cake was then brought out and joined by the bride and the groom. “Forever and For Always” by Shania Twain filled the room as the bride and groom cut the first slice.

The rain became only a mere memory as guests enjoyed the out of this world evening. The groom appearing as the Mission Impossible theme song filled the air as he proceeded to remove the brides garter tossing it into the air while “Just a Gigolo” by David Lee Roth played. Female wedding guests enjoying the setting became ecstatic after hearing “All my Single Ladies” by Beyonce take over the room just before the bride tossed her bouquet to the crowd. MB entertainment continuing to rock the house as the bride extended the reception an extra hour! Big hits of the night included “Moves Like Jagger,” “The Time” by the Black Eyed Peas, Christina Aguilera and the favorite of the grooms father “California Love.”

Closing Song: “Con Te Partiro” by Andrea Bocelli

The rainy wedding turning into a beautiful night that would never be forgotten. A big congratulations going out to our newlyweds Mr. and Mrs. Brian Murphy. A very special thank you to Kathy Knowles and her staff at the Key Largo Bayside Marriott. The wonderful wedding would not have been possible without all of their help and support.
